Avon U 12

Twenty three players entered this year's U 12 tournament at St Ursula's, with the vast majority being current county juniors. That meant for Prakrit and Emily it was a very demanding day, and both of them did very well against tough opposition. There were many close matches, and every player tried the very hardest throughout the day, and I'd like to say well done to
all who took part.

In the boys singles the semi finals results were Aidan 21 Elliot 17, and Luke 11 James 21. The third/fourth place play off was Luke 21 Elliot 19 and the final was Aidan 21 James 8.

 

The girls were in one box for the singles, with Megan taking gold, Kirby the silver, and Alice the bronze. The results of the matches between them were Megan 21 Alice 4, Kirby 21 Alice 2, and Megan 21 Kirby 15. Megan was also an extremely efficient helper sorting out the shuttles, collecting them in and finding players when needed.

 

The boys and girls doubles were also single box events, with Megan and Kirby taking the gold, Izzi and Alice the silver, and Elise and Sarah the bronze. On the boys side Aidan and James took the gold, Elliot and Sebastian the silver, Luke and Fenton the bronze.

 

All in all it was an excellent day with everyone playing well, showing great determination and being a pleasure to have in the tournament. Also well done to all the parents for bringing their children and helping the day go well.

 

Thanks in particular to all who helped with finding the players, scoring, sorting out the tea and coffee and general help.
