The inaugural U 11 Nationals drew the cream of players to Nottingham for this event, where Avon were represented by Aidan Gibbons. Aidan had an unfortunate draw in the group stages coming up against Kyle Cherry, Northamptonshire, which pitted two boys in the top ten against each other. Despite his best efforts Aidan was unable to beat Kyle, and lost 7 - 11, 9 - 11.
In the doubles he was playing with Sean Richardson, Sussex, and the boys had a similarly difficult box, winning two of their matches but loosing to Matthew Clare (Yo) and Max Flynn (Bk) 6 - 11, 12 - 10, 8 - 11; and the Bucks pair of Sean Chal and Kalana De Silva loosing 8 - 11, 14 - 15.
It was good to see the U 11's getting a national finals, however, it was a shame to loose the Singles Challenge which offered both an individual and team event. Well done to all the organisers for getting it to run so smoothly.
