U17s take on Shropshire

U17’s REIGN SUPREME
 

A 20-0 victory over Shropshire yesterday secured us going to the Shires finals as League winners of Group B ahead of Warwickshire by 3 points.  The shires Finals are on Sunday 13th April at Babington College, Leicestershire.

We put out our full ITC team Yesterday against a much weaker side due to a number of Shropshire’s top players unable to play.

Stuart was playing but as we were informed on Saturday night that a lot of Shropshire’s players had dropped out we stood Stuart down as he had a long
way to come.

Credit must go to the much depleted Shropshire team who despite them being the weaker side battled for every point and never gave up even though the
score was extremely one sided in may of the games. They fought for every point they won and did their Team Managers and supporters proud.  Credit must also go to our players for respecting their opposition and making them feel glad that they turned up.  It was not a difficult match and we used it as a practice for ICT and to play some good solid badminton concentrating on accuracy and teamwork.

Thanks to the parents who stayed to watch and for doing the refreshments.
